American Original Breaks Into The Social Networking Online Gaming Business with Sports Entertainment Icon Paul Heyman

Wednesday, August 10th, 2011

Hollywood, California (PRWEB) July 27, 2010

American Original founder Jeff Katz announced at Comic-Con over the weekend he was moving the company into the lucrative online gaming business, as American Original will produce an inter-sport fighting game based on the global success of titles like Mafia Wars and Farmville.

“In looking at the landscape it was clear there was demand from the combined fighting and gaming audience for MMA, pro wrestling and boxing games,” Katz stated, “Instead of settling on one fighting form we decided that there was an extraordinary opportunity in front of us to combine the three disciplines and create a radical new game that could serve that entire audience.”

Partnering with Katz is Paul Heyman, whose tenures as owner and Head of Creative at the ECW Extreme Championship Wrestling group and Head Writer for WWE Smackdown under Vince McMahon were met with enormous critical praise. Heyman, who is also co-founder of Looking For Larry Productions in New York (parent to his “Heyman Hustle” http://www.heymanhustle.com pop culture website), sees an opportunity with this venture he has long been seeking. “We’re always looking for new frontiers,” Heyman stated from L4L’s New York office, “this is a social networking APP, a sports game, and fantasy play all rolled into one sexy, enticing package. The proof is not going to be in the pre-hype. When we launch this game in 4th quarter, the proof will be in the game itself, or it simply won’t be. We’ve placed a well-educated bet on the designers and the potential to implement this game on a broad basis.”

Gamers will be able to create their own custom fighters in any of the three disciplines, leading their character from the bottom of the rankings all the way to championship gold. With each victory comes further customization options, moves, attributes and unlockable features. As an added bonus, users will also be able to play mixed matches, pitting wrestlers against MMA stars, MMA stars against boxers and so on. Additionally, downloadable content featuring a host of star performers – past, present and future – from the worlds of wrestling, MMA and boxing will be available for purchase as players fully customize their own roster of fighting athletes and created characters.

The game is scheduled to launch 4th Quarter 2010 exclusively on Katz’s http://www.geekweek.com website, with expansion to social networks and smart phones planned for 2nd quarter 2011. “We aren’t rushing into anything,” Katz said, “we believe there is an audience for this venture and we’re going to bring it into the marketplace in smart, strategic steps.”

BRAINZ Launches Public Beta of Next-Generation Facebook Game ?Social Street Soccer?

Sunday, August 7th, 2011

Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) December 15, 2010

BRAINZ, the games division of ZIO Studios, one of Latin America?s leading animation and new media companies, launched today the open beta for Social Street Soccer, a 3D synchronous multi-player game for Facebook. The game allows users to become soccer players, create teams with their friends, and play against other teams in three-on-three matches.

Social Street Soccer brings a fresh and innovative approach to social sports gaming, where users are not drawn by the offer to manage a team of famous players but rather are compelled to play in a team by creating their own personalized avatar using tagged Facebook photos. Users can choose facial textures, weight, height, etc., and select from a broad array of virtual features that include urban hair styles and apparel, specific game skills, and even goal celebrations which can be previewed in full 3D.

“We believe that the dominant trend for 2011 will be social games moving away from the typical 2D asynchronous management experience such as Farmville or FIFA superstars?, said Alejandro Gonzalez, Senior Vicepresident and Studio Director at BRAINZ. He emphasized that ?the next generation of social gaming will involve new game mechanics that provide a 3D synchronous core experience within the social ecosystem. This requires a paradigm shift in things like social context and closure”

This first open beta release includes a baseline game experience for early adopters and Beta testers. The full version scheduled for early 2011 release will also have enhanced social elements such as ladder systems, artificial intelligence, achievements, and micro-payments.

The game relies in Unity3D, a web based 3D engine, and Exit Games’ Photon to handle the synchronous multiplayer services.

Social Street Soccer can be accessed at http://apps.facebook.com/socialstreetsoccer

SocialGO Rolls Out a Social Network Platform For Gamers

Friday, July 29th, 2011

(PRWEB) May 25, 2011

While many of the arguments among gamers revolve around whether PCs are a better platform for gaming than consoles, SocialGO has created a platform that won?t create so much strife. While many people who think of social media and gaming in one sentence, they tend to think about social games such as Mafia Wars and Farmville which are played on Facebook. Instead SocialGO is providing a social media platform that all gamers, regardless of game or platform preferences, can make use of. They are turning against the trend of bringing gaming into social media by bringing a social website to the gaming community.

The constantly changing nature of games and platforms means that gamers are constantly communicating with each other on the internet. However, due to the sometimes negative light that gamers can be viewed in, existing social media platforms may not provide a completely friendly environment in which they can communicate. So the solution of creating a completely separate social media network just for their clan or group of gamers can facilitate even better communication. This is particularly valuable to large groups who play games together but may not all reside in a close physical location.

Having a devoted forum for their ideas and communication can encourage interaction beyond simply what games they?re playing and what the new releases are going to be. Having a social networking platform that they can create and modify to suit their needs can encourage more personal interaction, allowing clan members to better know the gamers that they play alongside. Having all communication running through a central social media network can help the community help its members when issues occur in games or platforms. A social network that functions well can enhance the gamers experience and help bring online friendships into the real world by encouraging organisation of real world events beyond the social network.

Social Gaming Blog FacebookGamesNow.com Announces Official Launch

Sunday, July 24th, 2011

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) October 22, 2010

FacebookGamesNow.com, a social network gaming review site, officially launched today. The blog offers reviews, information and recommendations for Facebook games and other gaming concepts. In its infancy, FacebookGamesNow.com has reviewed popular Facebook games like FarmVille, Ninja Wars and MyTown.

In addition to Facebook game reviews, the blog offers interesting articles about what goes on behind the scenes of Facebook games. Developers, game enthusiasts and web designers can expect to find technical articles that describe the technical and methodological aspects behind social network games.

Wayne Rothschild, the blogger behind FacebookGamesNow.com, says that many Facebook game enthusiasts are interested in learning more about the games they enjoy. ?When you get into a certain game, whether on Facebook or another platform, you develop a desire to learn more and get deeper into the game,? said Rothschild. ?FacebookGamesNow.com allows Facebook gamers to get closer to the games they love.?

Facebook games continue to be an increasingly used aspect of the social network. With popular games like Mafia Wars, FarmVille and Sorority Life, Facebook users can extend their social interaction with friends and online acquaintances. Many games offer incentives for users to play, creating a type of gaming platform that hasn?t typically been available until now.

?The popularity of Facebook games, in my opinion, is based largely on the idea that you can play directly with people you know,? said Rothschild. ?With other online games, you might be playing someone across the country, or even in a different country. Facebook games create a personalized experience that isn?t available anywhere else.?
